 San Sebastian College- Recoletos de Cavite celebrated the Feasts of Sts. Ezekiel Moreno, Monica and Augustine last August 17 to 28. This year’s theme dubbed as “St: Ezekiel Moreno: Apostle of the Sacred Heart of Jesus” focuses on the life of St. Ezekiel Moreno and his special devotion to the Sacred Heart.
Headed by the Campus Ministry Office, the Feasts of Saints is a yearly
celebration regularly anticipated by the whole community as one of the
grandest institutional activities of the school. It was also the first
religious institutional activity headed by Rev. Fr. Virgilio M. Paredes,
Jr., OAR, the school’s new Campus Ministry Director assigned in the
campus last July 28, 2010.

“When the Going Gets Tough…Get Going!” is a seminar on College Adjustment designed by the Student Development and Placement Center (SDPC) for the freshman students of SSC-R de Cavite held last August 11, 2010 at the College Auditorium from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
The students were provided with information on how to set their goal, assess their choice of career, and how to manage their time effectively. Techniques on how to enhance their study skills and maintain a healthy relationship with their parents were also imparted.
Dr. Brian M. Limson, a full time faculty at the Philippine Normal University, was the Resource Speaker for the said seminar. He prepared activities where the students actively participated. Mrs. Alicia T. Segundo, Dean of Criminal Justice Education, and Mrs. Rosalita P. Samoy, Dean of Business Administration, Accountancy, and Hospitality Management, were likewise present in the seminar and delivered the program’s opening remarks. The Peer Facilitators group members render an intermission number and assisted the SDPC Counselors in hosting the program and the registration of participants.

JIMMY LUMBA, a third year BSBA HRDM student and member of the dance group Teatro Baile, bagged the award as one of the winners at the Regional level dance competition of the National Music Competition for Young Artists – Ballet category (Senior). The result was released last August 10, 2010, weeks after the participants submitted a video of their performance to join the competition.
Along with Rolly Lacaba and Mark Christopher Simbiling, both alumni of SSCR de Cavite, the group impressed the judges by their intense performance of the contest’s given piece, Peasant 2 from Giselle, as well as their choice piece, Enchainment, choreographed by the long-time manager of the Teatro Baile, Mr. Breshnev Larlar.
Having won the competition, the group will represent the Cavite region to the national level of the same dance contest on October 16 – 17, 2010 at the UP Diliman, Quezon City.
