Hundred Islands, the reward for a battle well fought
|
There were 635 student participants, representing 74 colleges and universities, state owned and private. There were also 74 group outputs in each of the categories. There were 9 categories. To say that the competition was tough is an understatement, because the best of the best in every region in Luzon was represented. The attendance too, was this much despite of the sudden change of venue from Ilocos Norte to Lingayen Pangasinan. It proves that every single institution represented was adamant to make sure that their respective school banner will fly high at the end of the grueling events. But at the end of three-day competition, The Sebastinian Writers brought home three awards. Two awards for the group category and one for the individual event.
To sum up, The Sebastinians brought home 34 awards from the three
levels of competitions, 12 awards from the Cavitewide Higher Education
Press Conference held at Cavite State University, Indang, 19 awards
from the Regional Higher Education Press Conference held at Lucban,
Quezon, and lastly, the most coveted recognitions aspired for by every
student writers came from the 9th Luzonwide Higher Education Press
Conference held at Lingayen Pangasinan.
