The Engineering Department held it’s first ever Engineering Forum last February 20, 2010 at the College Auditorium with the theme Greengineering: THE NEXT STEP.

With the collaboration of Green and Reengineering, students from Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering and Industrial Engineering exhibits their feasibility & industry studies, researches and design projects commonly focused on rehabilitating the environment by developing energy saving devices as well as entrepreneurial opportunities for engineers.

There were 7 presentations staged namely:

(1)    DESIGN PROJECT on LED TECHNOLOGY: Development of a Low-Cost Lighting System with Automatic Luminance Control by Electronics Engineering students Aris Fojas, Charmaine Gorospe, Ryan Jay Palma, Jellenie P. Rodriguez and Ma. Andrea Satiada, under advisory of Engr. Marcelo O. Santos.

(2)    FEASIBILITY STUDY on Establishing Drugstore at Tanzang Luma I, Imus Cavite by Industrial Engineering students Paula Jessica Ramos, Rocky Villanueva, Nikka Sorosoro, Jenna Sarinas, under advisory of Engr. Rossana R. Goh.

(3)    AN INDUSTRY STUDY At PSP Manufacturing, Inc. “Increase Target Output at Rope-Laying Process of Payao” by Industrial Engineering student, Alison Mae Pangilinan, under advisory of Engr. Sheily V. Mendoza.

(4)    DESIGN PROJECT on Automated Wireless Ventilation Control System of SJ Building of SSC-R de Cavite by Electronics Engineering students Sheena Lyn Sarimos, Don Andrei Benitez, Joyce Anne Estrope, Marcus Jonathan Sinsay and Mary Joy Tomimbo, under advisory of Mr. Gerino P. Abelida, Jr.
(5)    AN INDUSTRY STUDY at Unilever Philippines “A Continual Improvement Study” by Industrial Engineering student Rose Ann Perez, under advisory of Engr. Sheily V. Mendoza

(6)    DESIGN PROJECT on SSC-RdC Faculty Attendance Monitoring System Using RF-ID by Electronics Engineering students Gerome Parin, Riza Reyes, Reiner Saflor, Sarah Jane Valencia and Jessieca Kris Vanta, under advisory of Engr. Jennelyn P. Cabale.

(7)    DESIGN PROJECT on Computer Aided Paper Recycling Machine by Computer Engineering students Angeli Comiso, Roman Fermilan, Cesar Ben Francisco, Jenive Gudito, Emilette Luna, John Pairez, Mark Anthony Ponteres, Wilmer Portugal, Dan Joseph Rodriguez, Irah Jane Satsatin, Michelle Yu and Abigail Zaulda, under the advisory of Engr. Virgilio V. Doza.


The organizers invited panelists from different sectors who shared their opinions and expertise in terms of business, technical, academic and environmental aspects. Invited panelists are Engr. Drickson Arca from MD Tech Philippines, Engr. Jehan Ilagan, Mr. Dante N. Peralta II from Comm. Arts Dept., Ms. Priscilla M. Mendoza from Business Admin Dept., Dean Lorena C. Ilagan, Engr. Sherwin B. Valeroso, Engr. Virgilio V. Doza, Engr. Mariciel M. Teogangco and Ms. Fraulein M. Herrera from Engineering Department.

At the end of presentation, Ms. Jellenie P. Rodriguez, ECE student was declared as the Best Defender and Ms. Rose Ann Perez, IE student as Best Presenter.

Other awards were given to design projects entitled: LED Technology: Development of a Low- Cost Lighting System as the Consumer’s Choice Award and Design Project on SSC-R DC Faculty Attendance Monitoring using RF-ID as Best Technical Poster.

The event was successfully made through the effort of the Engineering Department Heads and faculty members, Dean’s Office and Staffs. The activity also served as a challenge to the next batch of engineering students, who were also present at the event, to present innovative researches and designs on the next Engineering Forum 2011.

SSC-R ALUMNI FEDERATION FEEDING PROJECT
The SSC-R Alumni Federation, headed by Mr. Tony Alcid, President and Dr. Rodolfo Garcia, Jr., immediate past President, is sponsoring a feeding project for pupils of the elementary schools in the city of Cavite.
