The goal of bringing joy, achieved
|
June 12, Independence Day. While the whole of Cavite was focused on the Celebration at Kawit, the parents of 76 children from Purok Uno of Barangay 10B-Kingfihser was celebrating their children’s first step into freedom -- from ignorance. Stories of parents about their incapacity to provide their children even the basic school supplies for their children abound in this place. Some even went on to blame the inability of the Bacoor Bay to produce more shrimp, fish or a better harvest of tahong so that they would have the money to provide their children with school items, even just the most basic. That is why the Tulong Dunong of San Sebastian College Recoletos de Cavite through its Outreach Office was a welcome move for the parents and children of this barangay. Tulong Dunong is a part of the RC-COP’s advocacy on literacy and it was made possible through the valuable contribution made by Para Sa Bata Organization.
