SSCR-dC conducts In-SeT for its Human Resource

SSC-RdC, true to its mission to continuously upgrade its man power organized an in-service training series for the different sectors of SSC-RdC. The training was held from April to June 2015 at the St. Thomas de Villanova library of the Main and Cañacao Campuses for SSC-RdC employees.


The college faculty members were able to upgrade their teaching strategies through the different topics that were discussed during the 2015 In-Service Training held on April 22,23,24,27 and 28, 2015. Fr. Cristituto A. Palomar, OAR welcomed the guests, participants, and the resource speakers in the five-day upgrading activity. Mrs. Maria Soledad T. Tubay, Director for Research spearheaded the discussions regarding K-12 in Relation to Asean Integration; and led the review of the different curricula for the course offerings of the colleges; Engr. Tommy A. Ditucalan and Mr. Reymark C. Lazo introduced different approaches of giving examinations through the use of Quiz Star, Examview, and Akindi; Rev. Fr. Ian Anthony R. Espartero, OAR talked about St. Augustine’s Leadership while Rev. Fr. Henry H. Santiago, OAR talked about the OAR Retirement Plan. Rev. Fr. Albert A. Pellazar, OAR wrapped up the training and challenged the members of the faculty to do their best to equip themselves in order to keep a breast with the rapidly changing phase of educating.


On the other hand, the Human Resource Management Office organized the first In-Service Training for the Non-Teaching Personnel last May 12-14, 2015. Rev. Fr. Albert A. Pellazar preluded the training and at the same gave a talk on “Tatak-Katoliko, Tatak-Rekoleto.” Mrs. Tubay imparted her expertise on written communication to improve the construction of letters and memoranda. Mr. Jerald H. De La Rosa, Accreditation Officer of AJA Philippines discussed about the “5s Methodology” on the second day of the training. During the third day, Mr. Joseph Brian A. Servando, Assistant Vice President NCR/South Luzon office of the Fortune Life Insurance Company Inc. conversed about proper financial management; Mr. Jose Maria C. Golez, Vice President for Marketing and Sales Division of Health Maintenance Inc. discussed the abuse of taking antibiotics and second hand smoke while Coach Mary Ann Domingo gave a presentation about obesity and food vs. nutrition.


The Basic Education Department conducted its In-service Training last May 12-14, 2015 at the Cañacao Campus sponsored by Phoenix Publishing. Ms. Alma Dayag led the seminar-workshop on Differentiated Instruction during the first two days. The seminar-workshop on The Effective use of Technology in the Classroom was presented by Mr. Clifford Esteban the next day; Ms Gloria Cruz discussed The Art of Qustioning (Critical Thinking and D.O. No. 8); and The seminar-workshop on Formative Assessment discussed by Ms. Gerlen Herrera. Mrs. Tubay gave a seminar on Action Research that wrapped-up the training sessions.
